New research from the Better Business Bureau shows the stereotype of the “little old lady” getting scammed is wrong. The new study states that millennials are more likely to be scammed. More of the people who are losing their money are young and educated.
The research states that millennials don’t believe they will fall for a scam, making them feel overconfident and in some cases, unaware of a potential scam in front of them. Many of the scams are geared toward younger people deal with technology. The study found that since millennials have grown up with technology constantly around them, there is a false sense of security when it comes to online interactions.
