A scam artist brought a pregnant Colorado woman to tears when he told her she was being convicted of tax fraud. But what she told him stopped him dead in his tracks and even made him confess what he was doing. Right now, it's pretty clear. If you get a call from someone claiming you owe money to the IRS and need to pay right away, it's a scam.

But next spring, if you do owe money, you may start getting calls from agencies trying to collect on behalf of the government.
