Are you getting telephone calls from debt collectors?
The calls might be coming in fast and furious, urging you to pay up. It could be an old doctor's bill you forgot about or a store credit-card balance that you still owe.
It's an important issue. According to a recent study by the Consumer Protection Financial Bureau, one in three consumers have been contacted in the past year by a creditor or collector trying to collect a debt.
